Agalychnis Callidryas, or Red Eyed Leaf Frog, is inarguably
the most widely known of the Phyllomedusine frogs due, mostly,
to its association with the tropical rain forests of Central America
and parts of southern Mexico.
There are several morphs (or color variations) present in captivity.
This seems to be the prevalent morph in the pet trade today. Earlier from Costa Rica. This pair in amplexus belong to David Lawson.

This variation has almost ruby red eyes and usually exhibits
more of the white dorsal spotting that some Red Eyes have. This
frog belongs to Larry
Marshall.

This variation has orange legs instead of purple/blue as well as green or brown sidebars.
Developed by Rex Lee Searcy (http://www.tackytoes.com)
this is an extremely rare morph. Xanthic (Greek for yellow) is
the term for animals that have high yellow or red coloration.
The specimen pictured below belongs to Larry Marshall

There are even fewer examples of axanthic specimens. It remains to be seen if the blue colored Red Eye Leaf Frog that graces some photo galleries is the result of a xanthaphore mutation or not. An axanthic animal would be one that is completely lacking yellow or red coloration. There is a photo of what appears to be an axanthic at the Calcarifer web site.
